Richard E. Nussbaum CPA, Partner Emeritus
Richard E. Nussbaum, CPA received a B.B.A. degree from the City College of New York in 1962 and received his CPA designation in 1966. Through 1990, he was a senior partner at Laventhol & Horwath, Certified Public Accountants, where he was the partner in charge of the family owned and entrepreneurial business practice for the Long Island office. In 1990, Richard formed Nussbaum Yates Berg Klein & Wolpow, LLP, P.C., a full service CPA firm based in Melville, New York, which specializes in family owned and entrepreneurial businesses. He served as the Firm’s first managing partner from 1990 until 2005. He is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Richard has served as President of the Nassau Chapter of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, Chairman of the Chapter’s Accounting and Auditing committee, and is a member of the Chapter’s Executive Board. He has also held numerous Officer positions within the organization. Richard has also held leadership positions in numerous charitable, civic and other organizations. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Lupus Alliance of America, Long Island Chapter; the Council of Overseers of the Tilles Center at Long Island University; the Business Advisory Board of The First National Bank of Long Island; and is on the executive committee of the Executive Network, a business networking organization.
In December 2008, Richard Nussbaum announced his retirement after almost 50 years as a leader in the accounting profession. He plans to spend more time with his growing family and pursuing his many interests, including travel and photography.
